The Setting A farm-house (Thebot) and its converted chai (La Grange) in a glorious setting overlooking the River
Dordogne in winter, the Domaine Thebot vineyard and a beautiful valley. Just a few minutes drive away from the market
town of Ste.Foy la Grande offering many restaurants and shopping. Tennis, riding, golf, canoeing, fishing, boat and
bicycle France are all nearby.
The Houses -
Thebot:
Enter the large main door of Thebot into the original living room of the house, a spacious room now the
main foyer and small sitting room, with original wood floors, painted beams, an open fireplace. Turn right through a
stone arch and stairway to the main reception room (37'x19'), formerly a barn. Dominated by oak beams that stretch across
the width of a cathedral ceiling, an ancient and large open fireplace (providing roaring fires of old vines when needed),
the room is tastefully furnished with modern and antique furniture, including an impressive 19th century cherry-wood
armoire, large sofas and armchairs, and a games chest offering plenty of choice. A 32 in widescreen television offers
free-to-air satellite TV ) as well as French TV. In addition, there is a 10ft by 6ft large screen cinema system with DVD
player and a 5 channel amplifier, which delivers stunning reality for film and music video enjoyment. The sound is superb,
the acoustics exceptional. Turn left on entering the house into the dining room, which seats 10 at its antique
refectory table, through to the fully equipped luxury kitchen and summer dining room beyond. The large kitchen
(20ft.x12ft) has terracotta tiled flooring, with windows to the south and north overlooking the garden, vineyard and
orchards, and making it bright and airy. Designed to make cooking a pleasure, there is a cast iron Godin double oven
cooker, microwave, dishwasher, double-sink and drainers, American fridge with ice-maker and plenty of granite worktop.
The summer dining room has a round oak gate-leg table which seats 10. French doors open onto the pool terrace. Three
bedrooms run along the back of the house with 2 bedrooms upstairs. The upstairs bedrooms are set well apart from the
other three, offering two families sharing a holiday a good measure of privacy. All the ground floor bedrooms enjoy
peaceful views of the vineyard and orchard; the master bedroom has its own small terrace through french doors. There is
one queen-size, two twin-bedded rooms on the ground floor, plus two fully equipped bathrooms, one with shower. A wooden
staircase takes you from the entrance hall up to the two bedrooms ( 1 double, 1 twin-bedded) and one fully equipped shower
room on the first floor. Double aspect windows in both rooms provide superb views over the gardens, the Dordogne and to
the South. All rooms are furnished with modern and antique furniture and decorated to a high standard for comfortable
holiday living.
- La Grange:
was restored in 1998 to provide an exceptional holiday experience. La Grange is large
(4,000 sq.ft), it is old, (18th century origins) and it is superbly positioned facing southwards over vineyards and a
lovely valley. There are six bedrooms (4 twin, two double), located on the ground floor, each with a modern,
fully-equipped en-suite bathroom or shower-room. All the rooms are tastefully furnished with modern and antique
furniture and designed for comfortable holiday living. There is also a laundry room equipped with washer and dryer, and a
separate WC on the ground floor. All line and towels are provided. A grand stone staircase takes you upstairs to the
kitchen and living rooms. The luxury kitchen has fitted limed oak units, electric/halogen hob, twin electric ovens,
extractor, dishwasher, microwave and American fridge with ice-maker. Coffee maker, toaster, food-mixer are part of a
well-stocked kitchen. The appliances are stainless steel, the worktop granite. The top of the stairs is dominated by
the wall-to-wall picture window with sliding doors providing access to the 15 ft. balcony. Both the landing and hall are
bathed with light and there are marvellous views southwards. There are two large sitting rooms (38ft by 30ft average)
on either side of the house. Both rooms are characterized by vaulted ceilings, oak beams, stone walls and huge open
fireplaces, giving you glowing fires on cooler nights. Full-length double window french doors, equipped with safety
railings, provide spectacular views southwards over the garden and valley. The rooms are tastefully furnished with modern
and antique furniture, large sofas and armchairs. A large dining table sits 12 comfortably and when the houses are rented
together the room sits 22-26 people comfortably. There is widescreen TV with DVD player in one room, and a 10ft by 6ft
large screen cinema system with DVD player, for unbelievably realistic film and music enjoyment in the other. An Internet
suite is also available fitted with Dell computer, Microsoft Office and laser printer. Housecleaning, babysitting,
musicians and a chef are available as optional extras at separate cost upon request. Please ask us about Orpheus and
Bacchus Gourmet which offers a live-in chef. Both houses have full oil-fired central heating, oil is a separate charge
between 15th September and 15th May. All bed linen and towels are provided. Washing machines and dryers are provided.

ask us about Orpheus and Bacchus Gourmet which offers a live-in chef. Wine tours to the chateaux of the Medoc or locally
may also be arranged upon request.
Outside: Marvellous views the vineyards and valley. Securitized pools, 10 metres by 5, 1 metre deep for half its
