This potentially life-changing long weekend is run by Ian Christians, owner of Orpheus & Bacchus and is aimed to be an educational and highly enjoyable experience. It is for guests who have a very limited knowledge of classical music and wine, but wish to learn. Ian is the author of the acclaimed series of books entitled “Discovering Classical Music” which has the unique approach of drawing parallels with popular music but treats the composer, not the singer, as the star. He has been a wine-lover since 1962 and is a Chevalier of the Confrerie of the Sainte-Foy Bordeaux Appelation

Starting off with a quiz and discussion where guests are invited to rank their choice of 10 pieces of selected music, Ian will explore the lives, personalities and music of three great composers over three mornings. Extensive use will be made of audio-video and CDs in Le Faure's superb salon/theatre, played on state-of-the art equipment. On the Saturday evening there will be a piano recital, on Friday evening replays in the cinema of some great pieces of music. Guests will leave with the confidence to explore their favourite composers’ music.

On the Friday & Saturday afternoons, for variety, there will be a château visit as part of a similar wine educational, and this will be followed up with wines over each night’s dinner, which will be cooked by our gourmet chef, Georges Gotrand.

Price: £495 per person, inclusive of transfers, day visits, accommodation, all meals and wines. Maximum 16 guests. No single supplement .
