The Wihan's return for the third year running, with four concerts culminating in a quintet evening where they are joined by James Boyd. After their great success in 2009 with the Schumann quintet, Andrew Brownell, our Artist-in-Residence, joins the Wihans for the Franck quintet. To start the Festival Leos Cepicky, leader of the Wihans, brings his recently formed Piano Trio for three concerts, concluding with a performance of Beethoven's lovely Triple Concerto, with Andrew playing the orchestral part on the right hand keyboard of our Pleyel. To conclude, our Hummel Ensemble plays a concert of Piano Trios, followed by a concert of Hummel's extraordinary arrangements, which caused a sensation last year at Le Faure and Kings Place.
